Waldsassesn is a German town in the district of Tirschenreuth, nearby the Czech frontier. In June 2005 the population of Waldsassen was 7483 inhabitants. Baroque style monastery of the Abbacy of Waldsassen is one of the main sights of the town. Dietmar Hamman, a German football player, comes from Waldsassen.
